No. Bandmixr and Bandmix.com are two unrelated services. Bandmixr is an AI mixing and mastering service that turns your raw stems into a finished song. Bandmix.com is a classifieds site for finding band members and has no connection to Bandmixr or MTWO Labs GmbH.

Bandmixr is built for anyone who records music and wants a professional-sounding mix or master without the cost or complexity of a traditional studio. That includes bands recording in rehearsal rooms or home studios, singer-songwriters tracking at home, and bedroom producers working with stems. No audio engineering knowledge required. Just upload your stems and Bandmixr handles the rest.

You can create projects, upload stems, and generate mixes on the Free plan, and your first song download is free. After that, downloads start at $5 per song, or go unlimited with the Creator and Pro plans. The Rehearsal Cutter and the Mix Analyzer are completely free for everyone, with no account needed, since they run entirely in your browser.

For mixing and mastering, we support WAV, FLAC, MP3, and AIFF. The Rehearsal Cutter accepts WAV, FLAC, MP3, MP4, and M4A. Lossless formats like WAV or FLAC are recommended for the best results.

Individual stems can be up to 150 MB each and mix uploads for mastering up to 180 MB. Stem duration is limited to 8 minutes on the Free plan and 13 minutes on paid plans. Free projects support up to 16 stems, while Creator and Pro plans support up to 24 stems with a total storage limit of 5 GB on Creator and 10 GB on Pro. The Rehearsal Cutter has no file size or duration limit since it processes everything locally in your browser.

Bandmixr currently supports Rock/Indie, Pop, Acoustic, Punk, Metal, Jazz, Blues, Funk/Soul, Reggae/Dub, Hip Hop, and Electronic. If your genre is not listed, choose "General / Not sure" and Bandmixr will apply a balanced, genre-neutral mix.

Upload your individual stems (drums, bass, guitar, vocals, etc.), pick a genre, and Bandmixr takes it from there. Every stem is analyzed individually, and a custom mix plan is built based on what each track needs and how it fits with the rest. Frequency clashes between instruments are resolved automatically so nothing fights for the same space. The result is a balanced, polished mix shaped by your chosen genre.

Yes. After the initial draft mix is generated, you can review and adjust individual stem levels, reverb, and panning preferences before exporting the final mix.

After your final mix is created, you can apply mastering with one click. Choose between three presets: Streaming (optimized for platforms like Spotify and Apple Music), Standard (a balanced middle ground), or Loud (maximum punch and density). You can also upload a reference track to guide the mastering toward a sound you like. If you already have your own mix, you can skip the mixing step entirely and upload it straight to Bandmixr for mastering only.

Yes. Go to your project, open the Final Mixes tab, and click "Upload Mix" to upload your own stereo mix. Once uploaded, click the Master button on that mix to choose a mastering preset and optionally attach a reference track. Your mix will be mastered the same way as an auto-generated one.

Final mixes are exported as 44.1kHz/24-bit WAV. You can also download as FLAC or MP3.

Yes. All stems must start at the same point and be the same length so they stay in sync during mixing. When exporting from your DAW, make sure every stem starts at bar one and runs to the end of the song.

Free projects support up to 16 stems, while Creator and Pro plans support up to 24 stems. Most projects have 4 to 16 stems, but the system handles larger track counts just fine.

When you master a mix on the Creator or Pro plan, you can upload a reference track: a released song whose sound you want to get close to. Bandmixr analyses the reference, compares its tonal balance across nine frequency bands and its stereo width with your mix, and shapes the EQ and width of your master toward it. It deliberately does not copy the loudness or compression of the reference; those follow the mastering preset you choose, so your master stays clean instead of crushed. The reference file is used only for that mastering job and is not stored.

Yes. Every song Bandmixr produces is mixed and mastered at a loudness that suits its genre and what streaming services expect, with a safety margin on the peaks so it will not distort after the platforms convert it. You can upload the download straight to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube or your distributor without any extra processing. If you want it louder, click Create Master on the finished song and pick the Loud preset.

Yes. You can drop a single stereo file, like a phone recording or a room mic capture, or multiple individual stems (e.g., separate tracks for drums, bass, guitar). When using multitrack files, the tool analyzes them together and silence is only detected when ALL tracks are quiet simultaneously, so it won't cut during a drum solo over a quiet guitar part.

Absolutely. After analysis, you see every detected segment on an energy timeline. You can rename songs, change classifications (keep, review, or discard), and the silence detection thresholds are fully adjustable.

Click "Download All" and all your songs are packaged into a single ZIP file organized by song name, with all stems inside each folder. The download happens directly from your browser.

The analyzer detects automatically from loudness and peak measurements whether your file is an unmastered mix or a finished master, and judges accordingly. An unmastered mix is checked for healthy headroom and mix problems, since loudness comes later in mastering. A finished master is checked against streaming delivery standards like -14 LUFS loudness targets and the -1 dBTP true peak ceiling.

Yes. A finished master is checked against streaming delivery standards, and if the analyzer finds something a mastering pass can genuinely fix, such as a tonal imbalance or peaks over the ceiling, you hear it in a free 30-second enhanced preview. Already-mastered tracks are never pushed through a second full mastering: the engine runs a gentle polish pass that avoids double limiting. If your master checks out, the report says so, and there is nothing to buy.

The analyzer breaks your track into seven frequency ranges, from sub bass (20-60 Hz) up to air (12-20 kHz), and measures the sound energy in each one. Every range is compared against the balance of typical releases in the genre you pick and rated: Optimal means the range sits where finished releases sit, Too high means it carries more energy than usual, and Too low means less. A hip hop track is judged against hip hop, not against a generic average. Still, style varies within every genre, so treat the ratings as pointers and compare against a reference track before making big EQ moves.

Loudness follows the ITU-R BS.1770-4 standard, the same measurement streaming platforms use, including K-weighting and gating. True peak uses 4x oversampling as the standard specifies. Results match dedicated loudness meters within normal tolerance.

The analysis itself runs entirely in your browser and your full file is never uploaded. For the optional 30-second preview, only that snippet is sent to our server and deleted within an hour.

Creating projects, uploading stems and generating mixes is free on the Free plan; you only pay to download. Your first song download is free. After that, download credits are offered right at the download step: 1 credit for $5, 5 for $20 or 10 for $35. One credit unlocks one mix result, and downloading that same result again in another format costs nothing extra; a new mix or master is a new result. Credits never expire. If you later subscribe to Creator or Pro, downloads are unlimited and any remaining credits stay on your account.

Yes. Creator and Pro are subscriptions, billed in advance through Stripe either monthly or yearly, and they renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Your Account page shows the next renewal date. You can cancel at any time from the Account page: your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

You can delete your account from the Account page. This permanently removes all your data, projects, and uploaded files. This action cannot be undone.

You do 100%, always. Bandmixr claims zero rights to your stems, mixes, or masters. There is no licensing, no usage clause, and no transfer of ownership. Your music is your intellectual property, and using our tools does not change that in any way. We never share or sell your files, and never use them to train machine-learning models. When you delete a file, it is permanently removed from our servers.
